Welcome!

I’m Misty

Mom and cooking chaos coordinator

I am also known as Vantagemom, and I’m the creator behind Vantagemom Cooks and Misty Clark Cooking Chronicles.

I’m just a mom who loves to cook, try new dishes, and keep learning in the kitchen. I’m not trying to make everything fancy or perfect. I enjoy making the kind of food real families actually want to eat, from comforting casseroles and Southern favorites to easy weeknight dinners, one-pot meals, breakfasts, sides, and desserts.

Some recipes are old favorites I grew up with, and some are new recipes I’m trying right along with you. Sometimes everything turns out exactly like I hoped, and sometimes we create a little chaos in the kitchen. That’s just part of it.

Life gets busy, and I know most families need meals that are simple, affordable, and realistic. My goal is to share recipes that use everyday ingredients, don’t require hours in the kitchen, and still feel like a good homemade meal.

Vantagemom Cooks grew from my love of cooking and sharing food with others. I wanted a place where I could keep my recipes together and share them in a way that feels real, useful, and easy to follow.

So come on in and let’s try some new recipes together, along with some of the old recipes we’ve loved for years. We may make a mess, we may learn something new, and we may even have a little kitchen chaos along the way, but hopefully we’ll make something delicious too.

Good food, happy people, full hearts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make your recipes without special equipment?

Almost always. Every tagine recipe includes a regular-pot version, and I list substitutions for hard-to-find ingredients right in the ingredient list.

Where do you buy your spices?

Local markets when I travel, and small importers at home. The Shop page lists my trusted staples — saffron is the one worth splurging on.

Do you offer meal plans?

Yes! The free 14-day spice-route meal plan lands in your inbox when you subscribe — dinners, shopping lists and all.

Can I share or translate your recipes?

You’re welcome to share a link anytime. For reprints or translations, just send a note from the contact page.
